Over the past few months I’ve seen many interesting things. Here are some.
- Women in brilliant saris squatting at a bus stop next to men with skin darker than midnight wearing dazzling boubous (traditional clothing from West Aftica).
- An electrical line giving off bright blue sparks before catching the wooden electrical pole to catch fire.
- A one legged man in a wheelchair facing traffic propelling himself up a steep hill with his good leg in the middle of a street.
- Three kids (at different times) being sold/drinking alcohol at convince stores. The kids were wearing their school uniforms but they were sold 40s of beer anyway.
- Six sheriff’s deputies with their weapons drawn kicking down a door to a house three blocks from my house.
- A man standing on a street corner holding a sign that said, “Please help. I’m homeless and I have no food”. The man was less than a block from a soup kitchen and within a mile of 3 other soup kitchens. He was also less than a mile from four homeless shelters.
- A man engaging in the ancient art of Kung-Fu fighting in the middle of a very busy street….his opponent was invisible.
